He's pushing hard and wants another podium spot... looking good so far, he's flying on the limit and Chambliss goes sub-1 minute wih 59.456... third fastest so far in this round but it's a good challenge for Muroya who will need to fly precisely to take a spot in the Final 4 today.
Great support for Muroya in Budapest today... they watch as he takes to the track and goes through the Start Gate at 197kts... it's hard and fast but he's picked up +2s at Gate 7! That could be BAD news for the Japanese pilot!!!
Muroya keeping it smooth but fast, but that's a lot of time to lose in the track and Chambliss has given him an almost impossible task now
Gate 7 ends Muroya's bid for a follow-up podium here in Hungary. Disappointment and game over for the Japanese pilot as Chambliss takes the heat and progresses to the Final 4.
Without that penalty Muroya would have won the heat... but the pilots simply cannot afford to make mistakes with margins SO close out on the racetrack.
No time to stop and think; Dolderer is into the track and he's looking a bit too aggressive out there... he's got to keep it under control and avoid any costly mistakes... it looks like he's managing to push hard and fast and has gone clean...
The run is under review and he's impatient to hear his result... Dolderer looks like he's really flying on the edge there!
Dolderer 58.653 and that's a great result for the German who looks ecstatic
Juan Velarde is the last pilot out on the track in this knock out Round of 8 and the only man standing in the way of Matthias Dolderer and the Final 4.
#26 Velarde cleared into the track...
Velarde flew 59s in the last round and will need to step it up if he's to grab that Final 4 spot from Dolderer... but there's +2s on the clock after a first green split and Velarde has got a huge challenge on his hands as a place on the Final 4 slips away...
Another +2s at Gate 19 and that's a sad finish for the Spaniard who was looking for a podium spot... Dolderer celebrating after a tense win.
Some great performances from Juan and a glimpse of the kind of form that he could bring to the World Championship later this season.
