It's a good solid run for Astles in her first air race FP2 session, just one incorrect level flying penalty at Gate 4 but she's soon back to her lines. It's not on pace, as she comes in at 1:14.077 but there are still potentially two more runs to claw back some time.
Czech pilot Martin Sonka will head up FP2 shortly...
Next up, Slovenia's Peter Podlunsek.
Podlunsek looking a bit more resolute out there in the racetrack this afternoon. It's a similar story though, not too much improvement from his times in the earlier session today as he finishes his Run 1 with 1:03.276, including a penalty at Gate 7
Nigel Lamb up next. The British pilot finished in 8th in FP1 with 59.834 including a 2s penalty. in FP2, Sonka holds the fastest position so far with 59.481 (inc. 2s penalty)
Nigel Lamb heads into the Spielberg racetrack, and before he can even take his first turn in the track he's gained 3s for a pylon hit at the Start Gate! Not the start Lamb will have wanted to this second free practice.
Austria's homeboy Hannes is into the track for FP2 and he's looking steady, cool and collected... some beautiful flying from Arch and we're seeing green across the board. Arch really looking at home here as he finishes his first Run by knocking Sonka off the top spot with 57.813
Australian pilot Matt Hall next...he finished FP1 in 5th but will surely have last season's race win in the back of his mind. Hall says he and the team are thinking of this race and this season as a marathon, not a sprint. But surely he will feel the need to sprint to another win in Austria?
Hall takes his third run and once again it's penalty free, some majestic lines out there and he's definitely right on the pace and finding his form in Spielberg... the splits are green and Hall is pushing to take that top spot from the Spaniard... and he does!
Pete McLeod currently in the track. The Team Garmin pilot has been a little reserved this season, seems he's focusing more on refining and technique than results and points... all prep for 2017. Regardless, he's looking pretty competitive out there today and his FP2 session kicks off with a slightly aggressive performance, good and pacey although McLeod appears to be still experimenting with the perfect line as he gains a total of +4s in penalties.
Gates 4 and 10 are posing a problem for the Canadian and he picks up just 2s for incorrect level flying at Gate 10 on his Run 2 finishing, with 1:01.857 on the clock.
FP1 main man Mike Goulian up next for his FP2 session...
Edge 540 pilot Kirby Chambliss just waiting to come into the track.
