"It's impossible... you know that all of your friends, family, all the people you grew up with are watching you. It's a massive amount of pressure," says Bonhomme.
Smoke on for Hannes Arch!
Great Start Speed for Arch at 196s.3kts... he's not matching Lamb's pace but it's just 0.016s between the two pilots in the first split
Hannes maintaining good speed and looking relaxed... he's pulling a blinding run off in front of his home crowd and rising to the occasion as he passes through the Finish Gate with 56.963... that's just 0.160s slower than Lamb.
Arch returns for his second lap and Arch going aggressively, he's flat and smooth and some beautiful lines from Arch
We're seeing a switch to green in the splits and Arch is on point again... he's now half a second up on Lamb and he knows that it's about the win in Spielberg... he knows that the last two seasons could be a distant memory as he takes first place from Lamb with 56.254
Velarde looking strong in Austria, he's achieved two 3rd place finishes in free practice and has consistently scored in the 57s ballpark
188kts through the Start Gate for Velarde... that's a slow pace and he'll have some time to make up. 0.7s off the pace through the first and second splits, there's a little bit more time scrubbed off in the return lap and he's staying consistent and penalty-free. It's quick and he can go quicker... below 57s for Velarde and his best time of the week so far with 56.868
Another turn in the track... he's ramped up the entry speed to 196.6kts through the Start Gate and Velarde is chasing Arch in first place on the timesheets... he's tight and clean, looking confident and really consistent again and he's PUSHING HIS LIMITS as the splits go green in his third split!
Matt Hall will have heard Velarde's result and he's straight into the track with a slower start speed of 192.8kts... the green light goes on in the first split as he's 0.048 ahead of Velarde. The pace drops off and Hall appears to be trying to get a consistent and error-free run in for this first run. He finishes with 56.498, 0.695 slower than Velarde and he takes third place.
Will Hall go faster on his second run? Let's see...
Hall going harder in this second run and the splits are looking great.... two green splits but no! The call comes to knock it off as Hall gets an automatic DNF.
Muroya up next... he's sporting new wingtips and looking to equal or better his second place finish with 56.938 earlier today
