Pete McLeod cleared into the track... the Team Garmin pilot has achieved a best time of 7th place in free practice. Even with just 191.88kts on the clock through the Start Gate Pete McLeod looking fast through the first split... but there's some extra baggage and Pete McLeod appears to be having to work harder through the racetrack. He's through the Finish Gate with 58.525 on his Run 1. That's not as fast as FP3 but he's got another chance to go faster.
McLeod returning to the track for Run 2, a little wide on the chicane gate but the pace is looking better this time around.
Mikey G now waiting for the all clear...
Goulian went fastest in FP3 earlier today with 56.808... Velarde's 55.803 is the goal today...
Goulian appearing to answer Velarde early in the Run with 0.184s faster in that first split. A great, accurate performance from the American pilot but he's losing some time in the second split, as he's over 1.048s slower in the third split
Mikey G not as quick as he might have hoped and he's off his FP3 pace with 57.697. It's a clean solid run though and Goulian will be looking to take it up a notch in his second run.
Current data showing wind at 4kts from the East
US pilot Kirby Chambliss blasts through the Start Gate at 196.68kts and he's through the chicane and Gate 4 with the green light on... Chambliss looking good and on pace, but the turn is appearing to slow the American down
Can Chambliss make up the time on the back straight but there's still 1.9s in the red on the splits. Nevertheless it's a great start for Chambliss who has posted his fastest time at 57.748 so far this week...
Francois Le Vot cleared into the track... the Frenchman hasn't broken 1:00 in Spielberg so far but Le Vot is looking great through the Start Gate with an accurate and speedy start at 197.56kts
A great big grunt from Le Vot as he pushes through that High-G turning manoeuvre and he's lost a little time but it's still a much quicker performance from the Frenchman as he comes in with 58.917, almost 2s faster than his best time in the free practice sessions.
Germany's Matthias Dolderer next up.
Dolderer through the Start Gate at 192.07kts... he's only 0.037s off Velarde's pace and he's perhaps missing free practice 3 experience as he uses this opportunity to get back into the game. There's blustery conditions to contend with, but it's an otherwise good solid run with 57.255.
Dolderer having a slower start to Run 2, only 190kts through the Start Gate and the entry speed is lacking... it's all time he's got to find in the racetrack!
