That time places McLeod in third currently. He needs to lose just 0.026s to rival Muroya in 2nd
- Pylon Hit!
It's a slower turn on Run 2 and he's picked up a penalty at Gate 4 and no! Pylon Hit!!!
McLeod opts for a Safety Climb Out (SCO), satisfied with his first run and he's done for the day
Dolderer first, Muroya second, McLeod third, Chambliss fourth
Czech Republic's Martin Sonka is into the track next
Sonka's best time is 58.436 in Training 3, and that's including a 2s penalty. So the Czech could potentially be in the top six if he retains his form.
Sonka cleanly into the track and on pace through the Start Gate, he's lost up to a second in the third split and losing time in the last section of the track. He's JUST caught out at the last moment in the Finish Gate and it's another 2s for Sonka
Without the penalty he'd be looking at around 4th place currently. He's back for a second attempt thoguh and another chance at getting it spot on
198kts and he's looking more comfortable in the track
Gate 8 strikes again and another 2s on his time!
Sonka will be frustrated, he's only managed one penalty-free session here in Fort Worth in Training 2
Austria's Hannes Arch getting ready for his Qualifying runs...
- Pylon Hit!
Hannes went 57s in his Training sessions but he's struggling a little out there having recently experienced a bout of stomach flu. He's not on peak form and it really shows as he clips Gate 8
Arch deviates from the course and it's an automatic DNF for Arch
That's likely to push him to the bottom of the timesheets if no other pilots scratch their flying session today. Arch has come back from worse, though.
Arch has one last chance to get off the bottom of the timesheets. He's experienced a lapse of concentration before; in Ascot 2014 we saw a similar situation as he struggled to get to grips with the course.
- Pylon Hit!
Arch back on track with 199kts into the track. Not too far off Dolderer's pace but Gate 8 has pushed him too hard AGAIN!
Arch HAS to keep going and get the best result he can right now
He's got 3s extra to contend with... focus Hannes!
That places him in 7th place overall, which considering the extra 3s is not too bad.
Gate 8 has got to be the most problematic gate all season!
Hold your breath... Matt Hall is up next
Hall's personal best in this track is 56.293 in Training 2. He's got a fair bit of work to do if he wants to snatch those 12 points tomorrow from Bonhomme
Matt Hall into the track 199.81kts
First split: 0.100 off Dolderer's pace
And he's lost even more time in the second split, Dolderer is effectively getting away from the Australian
Hall is losing time and off the pace... he can't seem to match the power of Dolderer!
That's a surprising result and Hall clearly underwhelmed with that time
A little slower through the Start Gate... he's 0.205s off Dolderer's pace. We're wondering why he's holding back here. Is it pilot performance or aircraft performance that's holding him back?
Clean and smooth but Hall is really struggling to maintain his performance and he's in the red with a second down on Dolderer's track record
Matt Hall 56.598 (currently 4th position)
Now it's the Brit's turn... he'll have gone into the track with Dolderer's new track record time in mind
Bonhomme is capable of pushing the limits but has Dolderer pushed the track time out of Bonhomme's reach?
