So this is an extraordinary situation...the round will continue with the next heat and Bonhomme will fly last. His team is on the ground and we'll get more info soon
Back at the Race Airport, Dolderer: I was lucky Nicolas made the same mistake, so I can go relaxed into the Final 4
The rain is a big disadvantage, he adds.
We move straight to the next duel... it's Sonka V Hall!
And the Czech pilot goes first, a tough call ahead of Hall but Sonka needs to give this everything
- Pylon Hit!
But it's bad news and he clips the pylon!
That's 3s already and he can pretty much kiss this goodbye :( and another 2s before he's through...
It's 53.163 for Sonka and Hall is looking good for that first title win if he keeps his cool in the desert heat
Bonhomme had a telemetry issue and technician Wade Hammond is on the case... we need to have accurate data for the result to count so all hands to the pump to get him back in the air
Mangold makes a good point - that Bonhomme will fly at a different point in the day to Arch so the conditions could have changed by the end of the sesssion...
Australian Hall is in the sky now ready to take the title from Bonhomme's grasp... he really needs to stay calm here in the Round of 8 and not slice a pylon as he did in the Round of 14
And here he goes! He can taste the Champagne and has a race win in his sights, maybe even the WC title...
He just needs to get through clean and safe, just to get a spot in the final 4. Easy work. That's a 49.955 and he's there!
See you in the Final 4 Matt!
