Muroya holding the first place on the timesheets in Qualifying, with 48.618
Looks like the winds have swung around from N/NE to SW in the track... that's another adjustment for the last four pilots out today
FANTASTIC START - Sonka blasts through the track but third split and he's losing time, stalling and flying on the edge and he's clean so far...
5th place overall so far but he's got another run. Really testing his limits today.
198.39kts through the Start Gate, that's slightly slower than Run 1 and he's about half a second off Muroya's pace. Quick and slapping the wings nicely and there are a few corrections that are costing him precious time
1.844 off Muroya's pace but it's another clean run. Sonka maintains fifth place overall and that's a solid performance, just needs to figure out his lines and really go for it tomorrow.
Arch has seen the World Championship slip out of his grasp but he's happy to be in the battle for third with Sonka.
198.80kts through the Start Gate, straight and clean through towards Gate 7
Losing time in the splits, and they're firmly in the red with 0.865+ off the pace
Chicane is clean and his turns are tight but it's a satisfactory performance. Another safe run in there and we don't seem to be seeing the Arch of old; flying hard, fast and furiously
Cleared into the track for Run 2 and he's bang on 200kts through the Start Gate. The pace is better for this second run and he could move up the timesheets out there, a lightly costly high bank there
Solid, safe and saving his best for last. He likes to be the hunter and we feel like he's keeping something up his sleeve; Arch hasn't shown his hand yet.
Australia's Matt Hall is into the track next for his final flying sessions today for Qualifying
Hall is already in the green splits and he's looking so smooth and calm out there. Great control.
He's just slipped off the pace and starting to clock in a little extra time here... It's solid but Hall has GOT to find more time in the track to grab that top spot tomorrow
Time to build on that first Run and push his limits
Tidy turns and testing some slightly different lines out there, looking good and clean but he's not quite matching Muroya's power.... Hall holds on to second place and he'll be content with that result.
With Lamb's DNS result for today the fastest pilot in Qualifying with go head-to-head with the British pilot, who topped the timesheets in Training 1 and 2
Bonhomme is cleared into the track for our Qualifying finale!
Textbook Bonhomme and there's a glimpse of green in the splits
