The result for this race was granted based on the Round of 8 session, as the weather closed in and we had to cancel the Final 4
That's where we got some interesting point allocations as 75% points were awarded based on the rules
And our last round was at Ascot in the UK, where unbelievably we had our best weather yet!
This was Australian Matt Hall's race and he picked up his first win – "I feel brilliant!" he said afterwards
So now it's back to round six from Germany, where the rain is clearing and the Master Class pilots are getting set for the first of the head to head heats
We had some unexpected information from the Race Committee earlier, which some of you are asking about
Martin Sonka of the Czech Republic had a retrospective DQ in Saturday's Qualifying round – which meant a reshuffle of the Round of 14 pairings following Sonka's automatic 14th place result
ROUND OF 14 DELAYED TO 1500 LOCAL TIME DUE TO RAIN
AND WE ARE OFF! It's the Round of 14 NOW!
And that's a great textbook flight through the chicane from the Frenchman!
This track is a twisting and turning track, with 2 VTMs to take... and Le Vot has really made hard work out there for McLeod as he lays down a 57.224 clean run!
And now it's over to Pete McLeod – he was 5th in yesterday's Qualifying and is looking confident out on the track – it's green on the first split time!
It's green again and this is the kind of run we expect from the young Canadian! It's green all the way, clean and error free! 55.552 takes him through to the Round of 8!
We've had an interesting week so far and this track has tested the pilots to the max... so far, we've counted 22 pylon hits!
And with the wind proving a challenge, coupled with the turbulence that occurs inside the track from the grandstands, it's been a busy few days for the Airgators
And now it's the second head to head – Velarde V Arch
Spain's Velarde is first to lay down a time and he needs to go all-out to stand a chance of beating the Austrian
It's a good run for Velarde, the wind has dropped and he really holds it together well to show Arch he's serious about earning a place in the next round
It's 55.972 for Velarde and Arch was a second faster in Qualifying so he could well do this...
Arch is into the track... but immediately pulls out of the track with some feedback about his EFIS panel... that is a massive distraction
And he's going again... this time it's a solid start and he's off!
