MASTER CLASS FP 3 STARTLIST:
*BOLTON WILL FLY LAST DUE TO A TECHNICAL ISSUE
Mikael Brageot steps up in 2017 to the Master Class after a season shadowing Nigel Lamb in the Master Mentoring Program – he's flying the MXS-R and brings a new dynamic for the Breitling Racing Team complete with an eye-catching paintscheme that the fans have already given a big thumbs up!
Brageot says he's focused here in Abu Dhabi and feels totally ready for his debut
The French pilot enters the track and is off to a strong start, building on his goal yesterday to steer clear of over G
He picks up 2s for incorrect at Gate 7 and stops the clock in 55.204...
Czech pilot Petr Kopfstein flies second, having caught the eye of our expert analyst in yesterday's FP1 and 2 sessions... word is that Kopfstein really had the track dialled yesterday and is one to watch in 2017 after making a consistent start in the Master Class in 2016
Kopfstein does a phenomenal job out there! It's clean and it's definitely fast – 52.843 moves him into the lead
Podlunsek of Slovenia is next into the track and like Kopfstein, this is now his second season in the Master Class so it's time to put all he's learned in 2016 to the test in Abu Dhabi
And there's the 2s in penalties for incorrect level at Gate 4 and Podlunsek will need to iron that out for Qualifying
Gate 4 is the one after the Vertical Turning Manoeuvre so how the pilots come back down into the track is key to getting the wings level in time for the next gate
Francois Le Vot is next... and the French pilot also has a new paintscheme for 2017
After a great start in Abu Dhabi last year, where Le Vot made the podium with a third place, it went downhill from there... now in his third year as a Master Class pilot he will be keen to make amends
It's a solid run, error free, but just not on the pace yet – it's 55.985 for Le Vot
Juan Velarde is next into the track... the Spaniard tells us that he's in a great place for the 2017 season and feels ready to step up
