- Pylon Hit!
The Frenchman has work to do but we'll let him off as it's early in his race career :) It's 1:15.616 and that's with a pylon hit at Gate 6!
Just two pilots to fly now in the Challenger Cup – Luke Czepiela and yesterday's fastest competitor Kevin Coleman of the USA
The Polish pilot, who finished 4th in 2016, is on the track and he's got Berger's time to beat...
Split times are red for the moment... he needs to tighten up if he wants that top spot on the podium!
And it's clean... flying well at the western end of the track and maybe a little cautious at Gate 7
And that's 1:12.576 clean for Czepiela, putting him in 2nd and guaranteeing him a podium place with just Coleman to fly
Last to fly... homegrown hero Coleman!
Great lines out on the track for Coleman, but Bonhomme says it's a little windier out there for Coleman...
His fight for the top spot with Berger is really on! The split times are red... he's got a real battle on his hands to win this race!
And he just can't claw it back out there despite flying exceptionally well... it's 1:10.082 and Coleman finishes in 2nd place here in San Diego!
OFFICIAL RESULTS WILL FOLLOW SHORTLY...
BERGER: "I'm so glad the pressure in done and that I won this race – my first this year, so it's special for me. When I flew, the wind was not that high so I struck out a bit more for the VTM to be more on the conservative side but it worked out and was perfect."
