Penalty for over-G! That's +2s on the clock for Murphy
Next up, it's France's Francois Le Vot!
Le Vot posted 56.576 as his fastest time in FP3... can he go better in Qualifying?
Le Vot - a great first Qualifying run with 54.702
That's off the pace of Murphy by 0.351s
Le Vot flying carefully and concisely, but the pace is lacking out there. He's losing time in the track in the closing gates...
Le Vot 54.817
Bolton's second run in the track... he's in the green and just edging ahead of Murphy's time...
That's +2s for Bolton! Not the result he wanted today, pushing too hard and he's over-G'd
Bolton - 57.263 +2 for an over G at Gate 3
Ivanoff next up today.
The French pilot incurred a damage wing so he's now racing in the back up plane, a completely new set up for the team
Ivanoff looks attacking in the track but he's pushed too hard in the Vertical Turning Manoeuvre and picked up an extra +2s out there
Ivanoff: 58.180 +2 for Over G
That's +3.789 off Murphy's pace
Ivanoff clearly not comfortable or at home in the back up plane, no penalties in that run and he's got into fourth place
Murphy is storming ahead of the field so far, as Brageot chases the ghost plane and falls behind in the Vertical Turning Manoeuvre
Brageot slips into third place, a clean and fast run
Splits are in the green ahead of the VTM, Brageot pushing hard and fast through the track as he smashes Murphy's lead!!!
Brageot takes first place with no penalties 53.416
Brageot sets the new bar, 0.935s faster than Murphy.
Goulian has had a consistent performance in the free practice sessions...
He's looking slick and confident, and the splits are in the green. That's a steady performance and let's see if Goulian can go bigger and faster in his second run.
53.522 from Goulian, that's a solid run and two very consistent times. Maybe he's holding his cards close to his chest for tomorrow...
Juan Velarde next into the track.
Smoke on for Velarde as he races into the track, wings level through the track. First splits are green and he's off the pace from Gate 5... 0.523s off the pace in the second split, and he's losing speed in the track as he heads into the end of the lap
Velarde 1.505s off Goulian's pace... and a quick review for Velarde.
54.897s, that's a current 5th place for the Spanish pilot.
Second run for Velarde... he's quick and slick but the pace is off AGAIN with this different tactic, the speed is just not there for Velarde, and he's in the hunt but can't find the time despite a neater VTM.
That effort has boosted Velarde up the rankings into third with 54.045
Dolderer's had a tricky practice session, incurring a DNF. He really needs to find his focus and get in a solid run.
Dolderer into the track, that's a great start as he heads in faster in the split times and retains his lead.
We know Dolderer has the speed, he just has to keep it clean.
The splits remain clean and he's in control, the vertical turning manoeuvres are good, he's flying on the line and Dolderer goes to the top with 52.795
Dolderer has pushed Goulian down into second, taking a 0.597s lead
Dolderer going fast and needing a smoother run!
Penalty! Exceeding Maximum G in Gate 7 and Dolderer will have to let that run go.... he's told to knock it off
