Heat 6 next - Ivanoff vs Goulian
Yoshi is currently the fastest pilot out there, with 53.417
Ivanoff heads in flying the back up plane, it's a completely new set up and Ivanoff has struggled to go faster than 55-56s all week.
Regardless, it's a good, clean run from Ivanoff and a testament to the pilot's skill as he still retains a good pace through the track.
56.168 from Ivanoff, penalty free but Goulian has been going much faster.
Le Vot still the fastest loser, only Matt Hall or Matthias Dolderer could take his spot in the Round of 8!
And first up it's Matt Hall, who finished with a DNF. In the back of his mind he'll know it's ALL about focus and a clean run today, but he's got to get in a fast time as Dolderer will be hot on his heels.
Hall blistering through the track and he goes clean with 53.948
Dolderer has had a bit of a shaky track record in Abu Dhabi this week, picking up three DNFs in the training and practice sessions.
He flew 52s yesterday and will need lots of speed and absolutely no penalties out there today. No mistakes can be made!
The splits are immediately green as he's flying aggressively and VERY lively, Dolderer is pulling hard through the Gates and it seems to be paying off as he goes 0.6s faster than Hall through the third split .
But NOT GOOD NEWS - he Exceeds Maximum G in in Gate 14! He's just been told to knock it off by Race Director Jim DiMatteo and that's an automatic DNF! It's a flip of fortunes for the German and Australian pilots today as Hall progresses to the Round of 14.
Dolderer's racing ends here today!
We'll be back in a little while as the racing resumes with the Round of 8
MASTER CLASS ROUND OF 8 STARTS AT 1600 LOCAL TIME
