Sonka, Chambliss, Muroya and Goulian to fly.
Martin Sonka up next... he's posted a best position of 2nd place in Free Practice, and a best time of 58.124 so far this week,.
Sonka is cleared into the track, and it's a fantastic start for the Czech pilot as the splits go green... he's not holding back and a beautiful pass through the chicane... but it's over before he's really got started and the Race Director orders him to knock it off. Sonka picks up a DNF for exceeding maximum G and must return to the race airport. The team will be sorely disappointed with that result, which could put him in a really challenging position tomorrow in the head-to-heads.
And USA's Kirby Chambliss takes to the track at blistering speed for his first run... 199.79kts and Kirby is FLYYYIIIINNGGGG out there... he's overtaken Hall already and there's a real race out there right now for the top spot, that first manoeuvre looks pretty sharp! He's looking really aggressive and Chambliss is taking it right to the wire... Chambliss can't quite take the first place from Hall and he finishes his first Run with 57.363, just 0.169 behind Hall.
Check it out - the first six pilots have just 0.499s between them!
Abu Dhabi 2018 winner Goulian now takes the last two Runs of the day in the racetrack. He's got 15 points in the bag already and will be looking for a comfortable spot in the head to heads tomorrow.
Goulian through at 198kts and he's looking quietly confident out there, some very assertive flying from the American and Goulian is showing some REAL expertise and finesse in his runs... it's a penalty-free run and a pumped up Goulian takes 57.074 and pushes Chambliss down into the second place spot. Goulian REALLY knows how to pull out a spectacular performance when it matters!
Textbook performance from Goulian today! Unofficial Masters Qualifying results coming up...
