I hope RBAR looks at the rules with climbing in the gates for next year. It's very inconsistently applied and has the power to completely upset races and the championship. We saw it last season with Mcleod, Chambliss, Sonka, and Hall, and even yesterday's qualifier several pilots climbed through the finish gate the first time around, but only one picked up the penalty. Hopefully it doesn't create a judging win here today! Goodluck to the top 3!

McLeod kicks off the Round of 14 with a fresh start at 179kts through the Start Gate... McLeod flying looking good and he's drifted! That means he's picked up a pylon hit at Gate 7! That's +3s for McLeod and that looks like an easy pass for Hall who just needs to fly penalty-free now to take this heat. Massive frustration and disappointment for the Canadian.

Hall says he wants to put down a cracking time... and he's on it as he's through the Start Gate at 179kts... he weaves through the chican and no surprises, the splits are green as he goes 2.9s faster than McLeod... first VTM and he's got a great line there. Some turbulence in the track but Hall is coping with the bumps. He's through that troublesome Gate 7 cleanly... round and into the next VTM with some great flying and a solid run. He's got some great finesse there and a perfect start to the day for Hall as he goes into the Round of 8 - one step closer to that World Champion title. Relief all round from Team Matt Hall Racing.

Brageot into the track - he's through the Start Gate at 179kts and straight into that chicane. Pue speed here and the splits are looking good as he heads into the first chicane despite a few bumps in the track right now. Brageot looking calm and concise in the VTM and heading into the wind there... a little drift into the pylon! Brageot clear and penalty free right now and Brageot as got some serious pace. He knows Chambliss is really quick in the track but that's an almost faultless performance from the French pilot... quicker than Hall and some superb form.

Texas-born Chambliss is a hot favourite of the fans here at the TMS .He's got a tough heat after Brageot nailed that run but he's made a great start... he seems to thrive in these short and sharp racetracks. Just off Brageot's time by 0.017s in the second split... great judgement through the first VTM and some precise and concise flying in these difficult conditions but the second VTM wasn't textbook and that's cost him. Great racing lines through Gate 7 and 8... he's through but he's JUST missed the winner's spot in the heat by 0.110s - could he be a fastest loser?!Chambliss - 53.262

Goulian's got to keep those emotions under control... his first World Champion title in 10 seasons of racing is within reach and it's all hanging on this round...

Goulian through the Start Gate at 180kts... he's looking relaxed despite the pressure on his shoulders and that first chicane looks comfortable. Goulian goes high in the first VTM and he's looking a little safe. Different conditions out there and Goulian lacking a little in the pace right now. He's clean so far. That's crucial at this stage but the time is just lacking... under review but no penalties for Goulian. He's clocked in a clean time but it's just not aggressive enough for Goulian. Something else could be going on right now with the engine but we'll wait and see. He's got his time but Bolton has a chance to take this heat.

Bolton into the track at 180kts.. he's ahead of Goulian and goes full throttle into that VTM... but too much! He's picked up +2s for Over G and that's surely a free pass for Goulian. Another penalty at Gate 7 and Bolton seems to have lost his concentration as he picks up ANOTHER penalty at Gate 9. That's +6s of penalties and game over for Bolton today. No fastest loser spot for the Chilean pilot... great disappointment as he was showing great promise earlier this week but relief all round for Goulian's team.

Murphy only managed 12th place in Qualifying after picking up a penalty so he'll have to put in a good performance today to keep Le Vot at arm's length. He's into the track and we're seeing more pace and greater precision so far... a little stall in the VTM but he's corrected and keeping the pace up. Great style and finesse again from Murphy who appears to have risen to the challenge. The pressure is on Le Vot now...Murphy - 53.885

Le Vot cleared into the track and he's on fine form as he goes through the Start Gate at 180kts... cleanly through the chicane and some good cadence there, the splits are GREEN.... he's into the first VTM... looking promising but NO! Pylon hit at Gate 7.. he's taken a wide angle and that's cost him DEARLY. Massive disappointment for Le Vot as he was on course to take the heat win there. But you cannot recover +3s in this TMS racetrack and that means Murphy progresses
