139.96kts through the Start Gate and it's really precise flying from Murphy, he's nailed the VTM and we're seeing a fully focused Murphy out in the track right now. A little correction at Gate 18 through the racetrack but Murphy is flying well and flying competently... a little more pace needed and Murphy's through cleanly, but if Muroya makes a mistake he may be in with a chance. And then there's always the Fastest Loser spot too. A solid performance.
Muroya gpes 141kts through the State Gate, cleanly through Gate 2 and round that long curve... the first splits are off the pace by just 0.044s, and Muroya looks a little wide on the VTM but Muroya can squeeze a LOT of pace out of that Thunderbolt engine... Muroya clearly finding the pace now. Another small correction from the Japanese pilot and Murpya has a comfortable lead right now... but a late penalty and Muroya picks up +2s!!! It's over for Muroya as Murphy progresses!
Brageot into the track for Heat 2.... another smooth flight from Brageot, who finished in 11th place yesterday in Qualifying. The French pilot picked up a Final 4 finish in the last race... the smoke is a little intermittent and it might be a penalty for the French pilot who is flying very cleanly and he's got a good, competitive time in there. It's definitely on the competitive side today, some consistent form despite a couple of minor adjustments, but can Ivanoff answer?
Ivanoff flies forward from teh standing start and enters the track a little on the slow side at 138.98kts... yet his engine seems to have more pace than Brageot's as he goes faster through the first gates. Pretty blistering pace from Ivanoff right now, and it seems that Ivanoff's experience is playing into his hands. Ivanoff still ahead despite a slightly slower VTM... the splits are still green and Ivanoff looking very collected, great lines and precision... he seems to enjoy these complicated racetracks and even more pace from Ivanoff! The splits have gone 1s ahead and Ivanoff wins the heat, with Brageot as fastest loser.
Cristian Bolton cleared into the track... its a tricky head to head for Bolton, as Dolderer has enjoyed success in these kind of busy tracks... Bolton looking fairly comfortable and it's a good peformance so far as he goes full throttle through the VTM, a great descent and he's finding a lot more time in the track and we're seeing a reinvigorated performance from the Chilean pilot. Another great VTM from Bolton... some GREAT pace now and he's through with a personal best performance! A great challenge for Dolderer, up next.
Dolderer into the track and there appears to be a problem with his smoke... an automatic penalty and that's an extra second on the clock for the German. It's another buzzer for Dolderer at Gate 6 and he's got ANOTHER +2s on the clock... surely he's left the door wide open now for Bolton to progress... that's a lot of time to make up and Dolderer edpite keeping calm and looking quick, just hasn't got the pace to take the heat win now surely! And that's it... a great net time but precision is KEY and Dolderer is OUT.
Le Vot into the track at 137kts... that's a pretty slow start and it puts Le Vot on the back foot... and he's stalled already in the first VTM so he picks up another penalty at Gate 5, and as Le Vot roars his way through the second VTM we hear the buzzer go... another penalty and another -2s on the clock. Le Vot looked off his racing linesand those VTMs were pretty disastrous, clocking in extra hundredths of a second that he couldn't shake despite those penalties.
It looks like an easy pass for Hall, but he needs to put in a competitive time to garner a less competitive heat in the Round of 8... he's into the track at 143kts... we know that Hall has pace and he's looking relaxed but he picks up extra +2s at Gate 4, he's now in the danger zone if he picks up another penalty, but as he takes the long last curve into the Finish Gate the splits are in the green and he's got a good 3.4s on Le Vot.
Hall progresses to the Round of 8. Brageot remains the fastest loser.
