And Cristian Bolton is first out into the track and he's through the Start Gate at 198kts... Bolton's best finish was 7th in FP2 yesterday... he's not gone faster than 1:04.214 and he needs to knock a couple of seconds off a least to get a top tier result today
Up next it's Britain's Ben Murphy
Murphy posted 6th in FP3... he's yet to go faster than 1:03.7 so he'll have to fly his best if he wants to beat Bolton to the top spot.
Murphy into the track... he's pushing hard and he's building pace but he's squeezing through those gates. Great flying but just as he's about to go through with a clean run the buzzer goes and Murphy picks up +1s for Over G in Gate 16. That's 0.0776 off Bolton's pace, but without that penalty he's up there.
Petr Kopfstein next up... he's posted a 1:03 in Free Practice but with slightly different wind conditions today we might see some faster flying from the Czech pilot
Pete McLeod of Canada into the track next.
McLeod went second fastest in Free Practice 3 earlier today. He posted 1:03.024 in Run 2 but both Le Vot and Kopfstein have flown faster in Qualifying
McLeod goes into the track at 197kts, he's round the high-G turns will some smooth flying but the pace is way off... he looks to be playing it safe here in Kazan so far, but there's just no real speed coming out of his Edge.
USA's Kirby Chambliss next up. Chambliss has had a blast in kazan in past races, but we're seeing some less than quick performances in this modified racetrack from the American in 2019... Chambliss using alternative tactics and they're not seeming to pay off as he comes out of the first VTM way off the pace... through Gate 9 and 10 Chambliss is losing a lot of time and pulling G hard... he's over three seconds slower than Le Vot and Chambliss posts a 1:04.853. it's clean at the very least but he needs to try something different in that first VTM
